Now we have looked at the past
Is it really all quite dead and gone?
No, for the memories last
But we see how we can carry on
But that is the past we have seen
What of the past yet to see?
The past that hasn’t yet been
Tomorrow, the past yet to be.
The future’s, the past of tomorrow
Now will soon be yesterday
This new past may yet bring more sorrow
If we try to shut it away
For we know that the past is still there
That it’s there and continues to grow
That each day there are more things to bear
And rejecting them won’t make them go
When we’re not with them, we see them
And know we are standing alone
When we accept them, we free them
And then they exist on their own
So let us admit to each trial
Not running nor hiding away
Admission instead of denial
Will help us to cope with today
