What is forgiveness
but the ability to remember
without the pain
without the anger
without the self–destructive
longing for what never was
for what never could have been
and what never, ever will be
We have to accept what is
and then let it go
We can’t throw it out…
We can’t erase it…
We have to release it…
…it has to be free….
so that we
can be
free
