Sitting here at dead of night
I see the page but cannot write
A poet with a broken pen
Will I ever rhyme again?
Perhaps, alas, that time is lost
Will future rime be winter’s frost?
My nib is blunt, my lead’s run dry
The words don’t come, my pen is shy
Writing in a halting manner
Mechanic with a wooden spanner
