Decisions

How can we see which way to turn
As through this life we toil?
Never knowing who we’ll hurt,
How many things we’ll spoil
Oh give to me an easy choice
And I’ll still get it wrong
Intelligence in short supply
Stupidity is strong
This life has many twists and turns
Through which we find our way
But though I don’t see where I am
I seldom go astray
This doesn’t mean that I arrive
Anywhere at all
I so chop and change my mind
That all I do is stall
Is this way right? No, it is left
Or else, maybe, it’s wrong
And if I heard the piper’s flute
I wouldn’t know the song
I wouldn’t know which way to go
Nor how to follow on

One thing I’ve learned well how to do
And that’s prevaricate
And so You know if I arrive
I’ll probably be late
Decision making is a skill
And one I should know well
I make decisions easily
As any one can tell
But then, to them, I cannot stick
To what I thought was plain
And I’ll remake the self-same choice
And make it yet again
The answer may be different
Or could still be the same
