The weather has changed
Since you’ve gone,
After weeks of sunshine
And bright spring weather,
With the early flowers blooming
We have snow.
Gales and rain,
Then snow.
The daffodils that stood,
Making a splendid show,
Hanging their heads
To salute your passing,
Now look cold and forlorn
Poking through their white blanket.
Nature has noted your passing
And is weeping.
Great white tears
Drift slowly down
From a leaden sky.
And we mourn too,
For the world, our world,
Is a colder, sadder place.
We miss your welcome smile
And the hand that reached out
To grasp ours.
We will weep for you, Dad
Bitter tears of loss and sorrow,
Before we can smile
At your Memory.
